Calamine lotion

[1] Sterilize the bentonite by heating at not less than 160 °C.for at least 2 hours.
1- Levigate zinc oxide with glycerol. 2- Dissolve sodium citrate in about 70 ml of water. 3- Add the calamine and Bentonite gradually to the levigate. 4- Complete with water and adjust the volume.
Shake well before use; for external use.

*The viscosity of the suspension may be increased by replacing all or part of the water by a suitable thickening agent solution like hydroxyethyl cellulose, methylcellulose, carbopol 940 (carbomer).

1-Melt the wax with arachis oil, 2-warm about 40 ml of water to the same temperature, 3-mix the oil phase to the aqueous phase and stir until cool. 4-Triturate calamine and zinc oxide with the remainder amount of water and incorporate the formed paste into the cream
